Mail-in FAQ

Start your order online, tell us what to engrave, then ship the item to us with any carrier you like. Checkout covers the engraving only. Enclose your own prepaid return label and there's nothing further to pay; if you don't, we'll invoice return shipping once the engraving is finished — actual postage and insurance plus a $20 shipping & handling fee — and send your item as soon as that invoice is paid. You can follow progress any time from Track Order.

Any carrier is fine. We strongly recommend a trackable service, and insurance for anything valuable or irreplaceable. While it's in transit to us it's covered by your carrier, not by us.

Wrap it in bubble wrap or tissue and pad the box so nothing shifts. Small items such as rings, charms and pendants should go in a small rigid box or pouch first, never loose in an envelope. Our packing & shipping instructions page covers this in full and can be printed to include in the box.

The fastest and cheapest way is to include your own prepaid return shipping label inside the package with your item. If you don't include one, we can arrange the return for you at the rates below.

Package weight, dimensions, destination, insurance value and carrier all change the real cost significantly, so a single flat rate would be wrong more often than right. When we arrange the return, you pay a $20 shipping & handling fee plus whatever the carrier actually charges, with nothing marked up.

Postage can't be known until your finished item is packed and weighed, so it's billed separately after engraving rather than estimated at checkout. Your item ships as soon as it's paid.

Yes. Choose "Ship it to someone else" at checkout and enter their address. Useful for gifts. The same return shipping rates apply.

Each item has a minimum price that includes the first 15 letters, numbers or engraved symbols, then a flat rate per additional character. Spaces and line breaks aren't engraved, so they don't count. You'll see your exact price before you pay.

Every category has an "Other…" option priced at that material's normal rate — describe your item and we'll engrave it. If it fits no category at all, choose "Not Listed / Customer-Described Item" under Other Items: add a description and a photo so we know what we're working with, and you'll see your price and check out straight away, the same as any other item.
